Hunting in the stroller

I have been wanting to share this story for a while now. When Brad got back from the Pennsylvania mountains trying to get a deer, we had a conversation with the kids. We were asking them if they would like to learn how to hunt and what they thought about it. Wyatt's response was "YEAH! When will I be old enough?" Which is what we were expecting. Then we asked Lily having no idea what she would say. In her usual girly, not wanting to put much effort into anything response she said "Yes, but only if I get to go in the stroller and Daddy pushes me." Brad and I burst out laughing and couldn't contain ourselves. Poor thing was confused because she said "I'm serious Daddy. I want to go with you just in the stroller." I think Brad and I are still giggling about it.

Illinois Christmas

After many calls and back and forth decisions about heading to Illinois we finely took off around noon on the 30th. Why you ask? Well, Adalynn got sick on Sunday and still was and Wyatt woke up early AM on the 30th sick. But my parents and my brother's families all wanted us to still come. So off we went with two not feeling the greatest kids. We were thinking that stopping at a hotel half way would be good but the kids were cooperating and there was snow starting in Indiana. So we kept driving hoping to make to make it to my parents around 12:30am. We did but about 20 min from their house Lily got sick. After arriving and having a very long or should I say short night. The boys who were healthy at that time slept in one room and I slept with the sick girls Then I joined them around 3:00am. After laying around the next day Lily and Wyatt were better. On the 1st we were planning on doing our "Christmas". Brad got sick but we decided to continue anyway and let him just lay on the couch. We did have a good time together. Laughing about how next year we will laugh about this. The cute new baby boys added to the family this year. So after that is was the domino effect with the rest getting sick. Craig, Amber, Tabita then Brian. Mom and Dad were fine just tired with headaches. Thankfully it was just a 24hour thing. The healthy ones enjoyed playing with the kids, making crafts, playing games, making food, laughing and telling stories. Thankfully I have a forgiving family that said over and over that they were still glad we came because it wouldn't have been the same without us. Boy was that an understatement!

Here is our attempt at our whole family picture with everyone, even sick Brad:) From start to finish.

DSC_4581 I didn't realize my kids and their Uncle were without shoes. But that is the way they always are so we might as well catch them in the picture that way. And Brad had on his comfy pants. But I think it came out great for not having someone take the picture and having to use the timer.

The kids enjoyed their new cousins. Lily was fascinated with helping dress her cousin Tsuirel. I am sure if Craig and Amber hadn't left sick on Friday she would have enjoyed loving Roy too. Thankfully we live close enough to see them soon. We tried to keep the kids from touching the babies for a couple of days. Adalynn just wanted to hold, comfort and kiss them all the time.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

I guess I am just going to post on holiday's We had a wonderful Christmas. Brad gave me my present Christmas Eve. I wanted to take pictures of the kids all dressed up and Brad said use your old camera. I used to have a VERY nice 35mm camera that broke a few years back. I thought he fixed it but still didn't want to use it. The digital is much easier and likely for success. But no he insisted. So I opened my old case and there was a Nikon D80. YAHOO! His boss bought it about a year ago and decided he wanted to upgrade Brad is going to do some side work to pay for it. So these are taken right before Church and I hadn't read any directions yet. I am still trying to figure it out. But it is fun experimenting.

Labor Day Weekend

100_2653 Can you believe it? I am posting again. Thought you guys would enjoy seeing pictures of our camping trip Labor Day weekend. Here we are after we set up in the rain enjoying our new pop up camper.100_2659

We took a Wagon ride around the campground Saturday. The girls loved it. Wyatt and Daddy went to play goofy golf while us girls went around for another ride.100_2661

Craig and Amber came up to join us Saturday. We went for a hike up to a tower called Governor Dick. Adalynn fell asleep on Brad's shoulders on the way down. It was cute seeing her all flopped over. I was hiking with Lily so I was unable to get a picture. Brad was trying to get back to the van quickly.100_2670

This is Adalynn on top of the tower. It was interesting getting 3 kids up and down the ladders. 100_2673

Even though the water and the air were cold/cool we went swimming anyway. It was a great pool for little kids. There was just a small area they couldn't swim in. On Monday we came home. It was a perfect weekend. Warm during the day and cool and night. Perfect campfire weather. But for some reason I didn't take pictures of that. I will leave you with a cute picture of Craig's belly100_2676

First day of School

100_2680 Today was Wyatt and Lily's first day of school. They had fun with me taking pictures of their first day. So remember these pictures were done by kids and in the spots they picked out.

100_2693 We started out coloring pictures for their binders. They thought that it was so neat that they have one of their own decorated by themselves.100_2692 100_2689

Adalynn even enjoyed joining in on the fun. She colored one picture and then terrorized the place till I put a movie on for her. I am defiantly going to have to figure out something else to occupy her need for constant stimulation.100_2687

Wyatt and Lily's favorite part for both of them was the A-Z Phonics song and game. I did notice it was hard after a few hours for Wyatt to focus. I think Math with have to be first tomorrow and not last.
